7th Street Dental
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the questions our staff answer most frequently. As your downtown Edmonton dentists, our role is to provide answers to any questions you might have, tailored to your unique dental situation. Never be afraid to ask us in person at your dental appointment!
Important
All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation/exam visit.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your initial appointment will normally consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation. If you have a complex medical history or treatment plan, expect an evaluation and a second appointment for treatment on another day.
What do I need to bring on my first visit?
Please assist us by bringing the following information:
- Your surgical referral slip and any x-rays, if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, bring your account and plan information. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
- Please alert us if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (for example; diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) and if you are currently taking any medication such as heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.
- If a referring dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation/exam visit.
Do you provide direct billing to my dental plan?
For your convenience, 7th Street Dental accepts all dental insurance plans and provide direct billing services whenever possible. We will send you a monthly statement, and most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility.
What credit cards do you accept? When is payment due?
We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, direct debit and cash. Payment is due at the time service is provided. If you have questions regarding your account or payments, please contact our office at 780-423-4516
Do you offer Oral Sedation?
Yes. All of our Doctors are qualified to provide Oral Sedation to reduce patient anxiety, to enable multiple treatments and full mouth restorations during the same visit as well as to minimize discomfort after the treatment.
How can I transfer my records from my previous dentist?
We will take care of that for you. Our team will contact your former dental clinic and request that the records are sent over so we have a complete picture of your dental history going forward.
I'm not sure about parking downtown. Can you help me?
Absolutely. We offer our patients free parking near our office for use during your appointment. Because we are in the heart of downtown, we are also easy to get to by LRT or transit. If you have any questions, give us a call!
